| |

Mr. Adam Hill from Romeoville, Illinois has been chosen as Pioneer’s Percussion Caption Head for the 2009 Season. This comes after the resignation of Mr. Tyler Orbison. Mr. Hill takes on this position, in addition to his responsibilities as the Director of the Pioneer Indoor Line and Band Director at the Romeoville High School. Mr. Hill is a graduate of the prestigious Vandercook College School of Music. Adam still performs professionally with the Chicago Bears football team’s Drumline and the Chicago Bulls basketball team’s house band.

Adam performed for 5 years as a member of the Pioneer corps as a cymbalist as well as a snare drummer. He earned the Perfect Attendance Award in 1999 and 2001, Section Award in 2001, and by acclamation of the membership in 2002, he was awarded the Pioneer Veteran of the Year. In 2003 and 2004, Adam served the corps as a Snare Technician and Pit Percussion instructor. Under his direction, the Pioneer Indoor Percussion Line has won the WGI Percussion World Championships in both 2007 and 2008. Adam Hill brings a lot of "Class", enthusiasm, teaching experience, and a lot of knowledge about percussion to the corps. Adam will also compose/arrange the battery percussion music for our 2009 production.

Tyler Orbison, has resigned his position as 2009 percussion leader. Tyler served the corps as its Snare technician in 2006 and 2007, and took over the entire line last season. Known for his strong work ethic and organization, Tyler continued the tradition of a strong and fast-paced marching percussion section developed by Mickey Hartzog and Stuart Spoon. Tyler serves the Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas as its percussion instructor. He works with several winter indoor lines as an instructor, arranger, and consultant. Much appreciation from everyone goes to Tyler’s contribution to the Pioneer organization.
