Blue Devils Not Coming To Europe This Summer

Drum Corps United Kingdom/British Youth Band Association and the British Federation of Youth Marching Band Organisations have been contacted by Blue Devils of Concord, California, USA to advise that unfortunately they will not be able to travel to Europe in 2009.

Over the past few months much work had taken place to try and enable the 12 time World Champion Corps to be in a position to commit to the trip but with the worsening economic situation it has been decided that to run this European Tour would not be in the best interest of all concerned.

David Gibbs, the Blue Devils Executive Director, stated, “When the Blue Devils were considering plans for 2009, we wanted to look at all our options and decide what is best for everyone involved. This tour was never finalized and we have always followed through with the many international tours once we commit to the trip".

Dave added, “We are very disappointed that this tour will not take place this summer and we hope soon to make our first visit to England. We would like to thank everybody for their support and hard work”.
