Connecticut Hurricanes Announce 2009 Program

| |

The Connecticut Hurricanes program coordinator Jim Dugan announced today that the Hurricanes 2009 program will be titled "The Gold Rush". The announcement came at the corps open house/first rehearsal with over one hundred and ten returning and prospective new members. The opener will be "Gates of Gold: Call of the Mountain" by Joseph Curiale which will be followed by a percussion interlude and "The Can Can". The popular drum corps number "The Red Pony" leads into the ballad "Grovers Corners" from Our Town by Aaron Copland. The closing number comes from the movie musical score of "Silverado". In 2009 the Connecticut Hurricanes will be exploring the Gold Rush period in their search for the gold atop the DCA ladder. With today’s open house a huge success and an exciting program in place the Connecticut Hurricanes 2009 show is loaded with entertainment value, a level of quality, and a solid base in place for an exciting 2009 season.
