In The News: Colts Drum & Bugle Corps Will Play Inauguration

Jared Kumer is preparing for his inaugural debut by trying to get used to being out in the cold for a long period of time.

"It’s going to be unbearably cold and long, but I can say I was there," said Kumer, 17-year-old junior at East Peoria Community High School.

Kumer and classmate and friend, Patrick McGehee, a 16-year-old junior, are among a handful of central Illinois residents who will be traveling to Washington, D.C., as part of the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps based in Dubuque, Iowa. They were chosen last year to be part of the group and performed in dozens of competitions.
