Two full days on the road riding in cramped quarters. Hour after hour after hour of intense practice. Four hours waiting to play in frigid conditions.

For the Dubuque Colts Drum & Bugle Corps, it was time well spent.

To say the Colts’ historic trip to Washington, D.C., was frenetic might be an understatement. But after everything this group went through in a very short period of time — from bus trouble to Armageddon-style Secret Service evacuation plans — the Colts accomplished something that not many can claim.
