Lake Erie Thunder Hires Jake Malec As High Brass Technician

Jacob Malec is a Graduate of the College of Fine Arts of Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a Master of Music in trumpet performance. While there he studied with Neal Bernsten of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. He also had a Graduate Assistantship with the Director of Jazz Studies, David Pellow and studied Improvisation with Doctor John Wilson. Jacob has performed in numerous locations in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as on the east coast of North America ranging from Florida to Nova Scotia, Canada. Jacob was a member of the United States Army Band From 2002 to 2006 and was stationed in Europe and Georgia. He was deployed for a year in Iraq where he performed in the army rock band Government Property whose goal was to provide RR for deployed soldiers. While in the military he had the opportunity to perform with Wayne Newton, Chris Isaac, and Neal McCoy.
