Vanguard Cadets Announce 2009 Drum Majors

The Vanguard Cadets are pleased to announce drum majors for the 2009 season will be Javier Cerna and Sean Mardell. Both are three-year veterans of the corps and 2009 marks each of their fourth seasons in the Santa Clara family.

Sean, 18, is a Santa Clara resident and Santa Clara High School alum, currently attends Mission College. Javier, 20, hails from Mountain View, is a graduate of St. Francis High School and attends Chapman University. Music plays a big role in the lives of these student leaders and both want to one day teach music. Javier is also interested in teaching German or Spanish.
