In The News: Young Saxophonist Ready For A Major Role

Johnathan Doerr’s parents didn’t see any early signs that their son had a knack for music.

But when he decided to go that direction almost six years ago, they found it out pretty quick.

“He just out of the blue said that he wanted to try band, and took off,” said Johnathan’s father Chris.

Since then, Johnathan has received accolades while playing the baritone and alto saxophone, including earning All District, All Region, and All Area honors this year as a sophomore in the Seguin High School Band — falling just shy of his bid to make it to state.
