In The News: Douglass Named “MVP” By Carolina Gold Drum And Bugle Corps

Brandon Douglass, a junior at Chesterfield High School attended the Carolina Gold awards banquet in Raleigh on Nov. 22nd and was named the “Most Valuable Battery Member” of the corps for the 2008 marching season.

During the summer, Douglass marched with the Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corp out of Rocky Mount, N.C. Carolina Gold is an all-age drum and bugle corps and is a member of the drum corps association.

Douglas auditioned back in April and earned a spot on the tenor line. During July and August, Carolina Gold competed in three contests in Va., Pa., and N.Y. and also participated in four parades in Baltimore, Maryland on July 4th. Carolina Gold also competed in the DCA World Championships in New York on Labor Day weekend.
