In The News: Drum Corps Gives Students Rewarding Experience

A quad drummer is wearing a breathing apparatus over his face as he performs. He plays his 12-minute set with machine-like precision, marching in the hot sun with the rest of his section. When he’s done, researchers remove the mask and make notes about the collected data. His breath and his heart rates for the 12 minutes of the show was the same as a marathon runner’s would be for an entire three-hour marathon.
