J.W. Koester Returns To SCV As 2009 Tour Director

Former Santa Clara Vanguard and Vanguard Cadet corps director J.W. Koester has accepted a position with the Vanguard to serve as their main tour director for the coming 2009 summer season. Koester is an alumni of the Vanguard, having marched as a percussionist in the 1970s, rising through the ranks to the position of Vanguard Cadet director, eventually being appointed the Vanguard Director, serving from 1996 to 1999.

"I am happy to return to the first drum corps I marched. While I have worked with many great organizations in the past few years, I look forward to working with Jeff (Fiedler) and the tour staff to provide new opportunities of excellence to the current and future generations of Santa Clara Vanguard corps members," stated Koester upon his return.
