Spirit Of Yamato Charity Golf Tournament

| |

It is with great excitement that Yamato Youth Performing Arts Organization kicks off its 1st “Spirit of Yamato” Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 20th to help raise funds for its 2009 and 2010 musical and visual art programs. Your participation in our event will help the hundreds of student musicians and performers we serve each year who thirst for the knowledge and experience our music and visual art programs can provide.

Studies have found that music participants more often are elected to class offices, receive academic honors, and achieve higher grades than non-music participating students. Through participation in school music programs, students gain a sense of discipline, self-esteem, and pride of accomplishment, and they learn to excel in teamwork, problem solving, leadership, and creative thinking. Arts education instills creativity, a facility for problem solving, discipline, and cooperation in young performers. Competencies learned in one art form are in some sense generic and transferable to other subjects. Students, particularly high-risk students, do well in arts education classes yet suffer when confined to learning through a more traditional curriculum. In studies conducted by the College Board, it was found that music/art students consistently scored higher on both the math and verbal sections of the SAT.

At Yamato, we truly believe music is an international language. Music is an international language, spoken in many different ways and by many different people. It can make you cry, laugh and provoke memories and feelings. Just think about it, by making the music you can express yourself and give yourself happiness and when doing this you providing thousands of people with the same happiness and making them feel thousands of different emotions.

You and/or your company can help us continue our mission to serve the young people of America and Japan through the musical and visual arts with your participation.

We look forward to seeing you at the 19th hole!
Musically yours,

Yamato Youth Performing Arts Organization
