In The News: Blue Stars Working Toward Second Year In World Finals

The La Crosse Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps is back in a big way in the world-class division of Drum Corps International.

The Blue Stars were a top 12 finalist at the 2008 world championships for the first time since 1979. They surprised many drum corps fans by finishing eighth in their third year in world class.

“It was pretty special,” said Brad Furlano, an Onalaska native, former Blue Stars’ drum major and the corps’ executive director. “Now that we’re back, we’d like to stay there and move up.”
