In The News: Del Valle Musicians Part Of National Act

A pair of Del Valle High School students have become members of a world-class drum and bugle corps and are spending the summer traveling the country with the band.

Senior Carsten Patino-Pickert and 2009 Del Valle graduate Matthew Escalante were accepted to the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, which is regarded as one of the world’s finest drum and bugle organizations.

They have been spending the summer touring and performing throughout the country with the Blue Knights, which allows them to compete while receiving instruction in music, dance and theater, school district officials said.
