In The News: Former All-Girl Drum Corps In Norwich Relives Glory Days
Kathy Briggs Hlavac still has the drumsticks she held as a girl marching in Norwich in 1962.
Every once in a while, she picks them up, just to see if she still remembers how to hold them.
“It’s in your blood,” said Briggs Hlavac, 62, of playing with the Fire-ettes All Girl Drum & Bugle Corps 40 years ago. “When you hear that music, it just stirs something in your soul.”
