This year, when the Colt Cadets host "Music on the March 2," the annual Drum Corps International open class competition will be a national ranking event.

"If you’re driving down the street that night (past Dalzell Field), it will look the same," said Vicki Schaffer, Colt Cadets director. "But for the corps, this is a major event. Everything is on the line. It ultimately sets them up. It’s the last stop before the championships." The event will be used to determine the order of appearance at the quarterfinals in Michigan City, Ind. Winners will go on to Indianapolis.
