Even with bad weather and no thanks to Drum Corps International, five groups at the 20th-annual Maple City Sound’s Music Under the Stars show entertained a packed grandstand Wednesday evening.

Four drum corps and a local marching band played for around two hours Wednesday night to the crowd of around 2,500 spectators at Maple City Park, according to Mayor Shawn Hogan.

The show was different from the past 19 shows, Shawn Hogan said, because DCI pulled its sponsorship — and corps — from the lineup this year.
