2009 Carolina Crown Awards Banquet Report

The day after completing their finest season in a 20-year history, Carolina Crown held their annual Age-out & Awards Celebration on Sunday, Aug. 9. More than 300 corps members, Team Crown members, parents and friends attended this year’s event. Brass caption head Matt Harloff hosted the event at Avon High School, just outside of Indianapolis, IN.

At the banquet, Carolina Crown Executive Director Kevin Smith reflected on the organization’s first season in 1990 and how far the corps had come in the 20 years since. “This is a tremendous organization to be a part of,” Smith said. “And what makes it all work is the spirit and dedication of our members and supporters – whether you have been with us a year, four years or the full 20 years. I am so proud of each of you and the fact that, together, Carolina Crown has grown to be one of the top corps in DCI today.
