2009 Music City Legend Mini Corps Announcment

Music City Legned was founded in 2003 and appeared in its first competitive performance at the 2004 DCA Mini Corps contest in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The corps moved to full field competition for the 2005 season. Last year saw the return of the MCL Mini Corps as they wowed the judges and the audience with an amazing fourth-place finish.

This year’s Music City Legend Mini Corps features an all-new repertoire drawn from the "standards” of the music industry and the drum corps activity. Our program opens with Jimmy Webb’s classic MacArthur Park followed by Maria from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein; both made famous in the drum corps idiom by many of DCI and DCA’s greatest drum corps. The closer is John Labarbera’s Tiger of San Pedro. Truly an “all-age” Mini Corps, all members participate in the field corps and range in age from mid-teen to middle age.
