In The News: Bitten By The Drum Corps Bug

It’s a disease, says Ed Morris. Once you’ve been bitten, you never get rid of it. You can only keep feeding it.

Morris, a 1981 graduate of La Porte High School, was in town with the Drum Corps International quarterfinals in Ames Field. He is traveling with the Santa Clara (Calif.) Vanguard, which last year won the DCI Open Class championship.

When he was a teenager, Morris played a drum with the Cavaliers of Rosemont, Ill. That’s where he was bitten.
