In The News: Blue Devils ‘A’ Corps Wins 13th Major Title

A 52-year-old Contra Costa County institution added to its rich history earlier this month when the "A" Corps of the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps from Concord won its 13th major title at the Drum Corps International finals in Indianapolis, Ind.

The "A" Corps posted a score of 99.050, the second-highest score in the history of the DCI national finals.

The Blue Devils were founded in 1957 by Ann and the late Tony Odello, who died in March. Their son, Rick Odello, is the current director of the Blue Devils "B" Corps, the second line of the organization’s age group-based squads.
