In The News: Carolina Crown 2nd At World Championship

After months of intense training and a grueling 10,000-mile tour, a Fort Mill, S.C.-based drum corps took on the most elite marching music groups in America this weekend and came away with a silver medal.

The Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps took second at the Drum Corps International World Championship in Indianapolis. This is the first time the group has medaled in its 20-year history.

“It feels terrific,” said Doug Madar, a Carolina Crown board member and longtime volunteer. “It’s just great, to have broken into the top three – that in itself says something.”
