2009 DCA Annual Meeting Report

The management of all DCA corps reunited on September 26th to begin preparations for the 2010 Season. Everyone was still quite upbeat over the success of the 2008 Championships just a few weeks earlier. The primary order of business was the bi-annual election of officers. The current executive board, consisting of President, Gil Silva, Vice-President, Larry Hershman, Treasurer, Michael “Red” Corso and Secretary, Glen Johnson, were all reelected to another 2 year term and given a mandate to continue in the successful direction of the past few seasons.

President Silva praised the DCA Judging team for their successful achievements over the past two years and was especially thankful to Judging Coordinator, John Kreitzer for his efforts. Kreitzer, Visual Caption Chairman, Tony Smith and Brass Caption Chairman, Rich Guillen were all elected to continue the programs they had begun through the 2010 season. John Stouffer, Percussion Caption Chairman and senior man on the adjudication team declined to run for reelection for family reasons. President Silva accepted his resignation with regret, but was pleased to advise that we expect to see John throughout the coming summer, back on the field adjudicating.

Elected to replace Stouffer was Darrell Goslin of Gilbertsville, PA. A Pennsylvania Band Director, Goslin is a former percussionist with the Crossmen and Reading Buccaneers. Goslin has extensive judging management credentials and is active in judging for DCA, DCI, WGI and other percussion and music entities. DCA is pleased to have his experience and leadership capabilities on its adjudication management team.

With the DCA Championship returning to Rochester in 2010, President Silva felt confident that Show Chairman, Allen Buell and his team were well underway for next summer and that DCA would continue is growth and prosperity.
