Cascades Announce 2010 Design Team

The Cascades are proud to announce the design team for the 2010 season. Returning as Design Coordinator and Drill Designer will be Kurt Jull from Portland, OR. Kurt has been a long time Cascades team member in design, instruction, and administration. Josh Hinkel, from Myrtle Beach, SC will be the Music Coordinator and Brass Arranger. Josh was the brass arranger for Cascades in 2009. Heading up the Percussion Arranging will be Chris Grant, from Spokane, WA. Chris is a long time member of the Cascades and did the percussion arranging in 2009. Joining Chris will be Brian Madgett, from Vancouver, WA as the Front Ensemble Arranger. Ben Adams, from Portland, OR will be joining the 2010 design team as the Color Guard / Visual choreographer. Ben was with the 2009 Cascades in the capacity of color guard caption head. And rounding out the 2010 design team will be Mike Leone the 2010 Program Coordinator, and Ron Comfort and Sal Leone.

The Northwest Youth Music Association encourages development of life-long skills in Northwest youth by supporting musical and performing arts activities in collaboration with community and educational organizations. They are the proud sponsor of the Cascades Drum & Bugle Corps, Brass Attack, and the DCI Portland Summer Games. Most recently, NYMA has announced a merger with the sponsors of the Spokane Thunder, the Greater Spokane Drum Corps Association. The Cascades Drum & Bugle Corps is the longest surviving corps in the Pacific Northwest originating back in 1957 as the Seattle Thunderbirds. Recent acclaim has included the DCI Division III Champions in 2000, the DCI Division II Silver Medal winner in 2001 and the only Northwest corps to ever make finals at the DCI World Championships when they entered the field in Madison, Wisconsin in 2002.
