In The News: Boxing Champ’s Son Is Drum Whiz

Arthur Johnson Jr. is following in his father’s footsteps as a world champion, but he’s doing it with drumsticks instead of boxing gloves.

The 18-year-old O’Fallon resident recently won the world title in "multipercussion" at the 2009 Drum Corps International championship in Indianapolis.

"You are insane!" the judge wrote on a score sheet before giving him 198 points out of a possible 200. "So creative, musical. Thanks for the variety and coordination. Great hands!"
