In The News: Nicholls Music Major Tours U.S. With Drum Corps

He usually entertains crowds for the Colonels on the football field, in the bleachers or on the stage at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.

But this summer, Robert Blackburn of Thibodaux played his horn for audiences from California to Pennsylvania as a Blue Knight.

The 21-year-old Blackburn, a senior majoring in music-education at Nicholls, earned a spot on the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, an elite marching corps based in Denver.
