Blue Devils Welcome Pat Seidling

| |

The Blue Devils are excited to announce that Patrick Seidling will be joining the organization as System Blue Live Events Manager. He will work with The Blue Devil staff and management organizing educational live events throughout the year.

Pat holds a degree in education from Louisiana State University. Involved in music at an early age, he began as a member of his hometown drum and bugle corps at the age of nine. He became a student leader in his high school music program and was a 3-year member of the Louisiana State University Golden Band from Tigerland. Pat was also a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. A former classroom teacher, Pat earned the “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” award from the Victorville (California) school district in 1992.

As director of the Phantom Regiment from 2001 through 2006, Seidling was an integral part of the corps’ return to the competitive elite. While in Rockford he created educational events including a Snare Drum Camp, a Marching Band Festival and an educational partnership with the Rockford Symphony, in which hand-drumming classes where presented to elementary schools throughout northern Illinois.

Prior to his work with Phantom Regiment, Seidling was an assistant director in the Madison Scouts organization and served as director of Kentucky’s Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps. While with Southwind, he oversaw the corps’ move from Alabama to Kentucky and led their growth from inactive status to a 13-place ranking in DCI, all in three short years. Pat has also worked with the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps and the six-time WGI world champion Music City Mystique indoor drum line.

Pat has been active in developing a competitive marching band activity in Brazil, including advising the State of Sao Paulo’s Department of Tourism in developing events that support music education. He has also worked extensively with marching bands across the USA, having served on adjudication panels at over a dozen state championship events.

In 2003 he received Drum Corps International’s coveted Dr. Bernard Bagg’s Award for Outstanding Leadership. In addition to his role with System Blue, Pat is a regional manager with Stanbury Uniforms and also serves as an advisor to the Drum Corps International Board of Directors. Pat lives in southern California with his wife Tamee and son Evan.
