In The News: James C. Gruber, Executive Director Of The Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps

Why he’s in the news: The Buccaneers finished their fifth consecutive undefeated season last month and set several Drum Corps Associates records. At the DCA World Championships in Rochester, N.Y., the Buccaneers won the championship finals competitions and earned the highest championship score in DCA history: 99.025 out of a possible 100 points.

Personal: Born and raised in Fleetwood, Gruber, 52, lives in Freeland, Luzerne County, with his wife, Karen; and daughter Abigail, 16, a marching member of the Buccaneers. His son, Christian, is a student at Akron University in Ohio.
