In The News: Scouting Family Is Hitting A Sweet Musical Note

A CENTURY-OLD Scout group has won another national musical prize – and one family can pinpoint its march to victory better than most.

Three generations of the Swindells family are members of the 1st Kidsgrove Scout’s Drum Corps, which was a whisker from being named the best in Europe last month.

Rob Swindells co-directs at the group, which meets every Tuesday at the Scout headquarters on The Avenue, Kidsgrove, and has been instrumental in getting the band into its winning ways.
