In The News: Spartans Raise Money, Honor Founder
Old Spartans never die, Pam Angulo said Friday.
“They become part of the Al LaFlamme fan club,” she said.
In a ballroom at the Crowne Plaza hotel, more than 100 of Albert A. “Berdie” LaFlamme’s fans gathered to pay tribute to the founder of the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps, and to raise money for a beloved city organization that, like a fledgling phoenix, is attempting to be reborn out of the ashes of bankruptcy.
