Boston Crusaders Caption Head Achieves Percussion Milestone

Percussion Caption Head and Arranger Omar Carmenates has just earned his Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University. His treatise, Honduras Rosewood: Its Endangerment and Subsequent Effect on the Percussion Industry, was successfully defended on December 7th, and was the culmination of three years of doctoral work at Florida State. While at FSU defending his treatise, Omar also gave a solo recital premiering new works written for him by notable composers such as David Skidmore, Brian Nozny (a fellow Crusader staff member), Christopher Deane, and John Luther Adams.
