Capital Brass! Parade Corps Returns In 2010

| |

After a great season for the Brass Ensemble… plus the wild success of SNAP!, in parades across the region…..
…. it’s time to re – introduce the Capital Brass! Parade Corps.

The parade unit was a part-time project ,over the last couple of years ; with basically once-a-year appearances; including one performance which earned the 2008 NY State American Legion Drum Corps Title.

In 2009 our SNAP! jazz band became our parade representative; as organizers all over the region enthusiastically welcomed the Capital Brass! organization back to the parade arena…. where they once were perennial favorites.

For 2010, CB! has some exciting plans and some unique opportunities for the right players…, who are interested in performing with a progressive, dynamic, EXCELLENT drum corps.

We will build on the high quality and huge success of SNAP! to produce a companion group to fill the void for a good, local drum corps unit to march in local parades and to represent the Capital District of NY. A very high degree of excellence is expected; and we will accept no less than producing the PREMIER musical parade unit in the region.

A limited number of brass, percussion and guard members will we be accepted. Details are still being developed but, some tentative details are available:

  • Members will provide their own instruments and uniforms (some loaner instruments may be available).
  • A small, fun & impactful repertoire will be used.
  • A limited rehearsal schedule in the late Winter/early Spring.
  • The parade unit will be a produced and operated by Brass-O-Mania!

The goal is to start rehearsals in early 2010, to prepare for a St. Patrick’s Day premier. But, at the outside, Memorial Day will be the latest target.

Spots will be very limited. So contact us to indicate your interest, asap. Once rehearsals are scheduled, they’ll be posted on our website; along with current openings.
