2010 Music City January Camp Report

| |

Music City Drum and Bugle Corps once again set new standards for itself at the camp held January 23-24. The horn line and battery rehearsed "St. Louis Blues" together for the first time. There were smiles and tapping toes aplenty at the camp’s "show and tell". Excitement-packed definitely describes the 2010 opener which is sure to be another crowd pleaser.

The corps welcomed a few new members to both the brass and percussion sections. The battery completed the audition process for 2010. The power displayed by the horn line at the camp caused the percussion staff to decide to increase the planned on size of the battery. The line will march 8 snares, 4 tenors and 5 basses. Alternates were also selected. The front ensemble, currently 11-members strong, had its best camp to date. The staff will consider adding one additional member to this section.

The horn line and color guard will continue to welcome new prospects to apply for membership. There is no set limit to the size of these sections. A "more the merrier" stance is the current policy for the brass and guard.

The next camp for brass and percussion will be held March 13-14. It will take place at a high school to be announced soon. Guard prospects may audition at the camp to be held April 24-25.

The corps would like to thank Freedom Middle School in Franklin, TN for hosting the January camp. The facilities were perfect, and a good time was had by all.
