“Now on the starting line, from Saugus, Massachusetts, the Socialites All Girl Drum and Bugle Corps.”

If those words bring you to attention and make the butterflies start in your stomach, then chances are, you were at one time one of the 1500 young ladies who marched and competed with the championship corp.

Started in 1952 as the PAL drill team and growing into a drum corps in 1960, it gave young ladies between the ages of 14 and 21 a year-round activity that taught discipline, loyalty, hard work and created a bond that forever after was a high point of growing up in Saugus.
