Teal Sound Granted Access To World Class Schedule

Teal Sound has been granted access to the World Class schedule by the Drum Corps International voting membership at its annual meeting this weekend in Indianapolis.

Corps director Randy W. Blackburn said, "Teal Sound has made great strides in the past few months in the development of its operational processes to comply with the suggestions of the DCI Board of Directors. We are very pleased with the outcome of today’s vote, but know that today’s vote is not a rubber stamp on the rest of the season. We know that we have a lot of work to do to continue to prove to the DCI voting membership that we are worthy of classification as a World Class organization."

Dr. Clifford A. Lipscomb, Chairman of the Board of The Teal Sound, Inc., added, "This is a pivotal day for the whole organization and the culmination of a three-year plan by the new management team to get the corps access to the World Class schedule. This achievement would have been impossible without the hard work of our students, parents, volunteers and administration. Now the really hard work begins!"

President Brian Fisher added, "This decision today also strengthens our strategic alliances with other Florida organizations to provide quality world-class performance opportunities for our youth."
