The following is a brief biography on each of the drum majors.

Ryan Brooks

Ryan is from Knoxville, TN having lived there his entire life. This is his third season in drum corps, and second season with the Colts.

When Ryan first came to the Colts, he was enamored by the sense of family and unity throughout the corps. "I knew it was the place for me, my home in drum corps," said Ryan. "I loved the staff and how much they stood up and cared for each member. I knew that I wanted to be a part of it."

This season, Ryan hopes to lead the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps to a new level of achievement. "This season, Shane and I hope to bring a new Colts to the marching field. We fully intend on leading the Colts to the level that we have always dreamed of."

Ryan attended Middle Tennessee State University majoring in Aerospace, Professional Pilot. He is currently in training to be a pilot. "Music is my first love, however, I love flying just as much and hope to have a career in aerospace one day."

Shane Connolly

Shane grew up in Dyersville, IA and currently resides in Milwaukee, WI. This is his ninth year in drum corps and seventh year with the Colts. From 2004-07, Shane was a contra, also serving as section leader in 2006-07. In 2008, he moved to baritone, and the last two years he has been one of the drum majors. "My first drum corps experience was in 2002 carrying the banner in a parade for the Colt Cadets," said Shane.

"Since the first day I came to the Colts, I knew it was something special. Without the organization, I would not have grown up to be the person I am today. It’s no longer just my family but my life," said Shane. "This coming summer, Ryan and I hope to lead the corps to new and unimaginable heights. This being my age-out year, I cannot wait for the season to start."

Shane is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-MiIwaukee as a Film major. "I hope someday to combine the life lessons I learned in the Colts with the film experiences I learned in college to start my own film company."

The Colts would like to congratulate Ryan and Shane and look forward to their leadership throughout the 2010 season.
