In The News: District Reviews Public-Use Policy After Kitchen Mess

The George Washington Middle School kitchen staff was forced on Dec. 21 to tear apart equipment in an unplanned effort to clean a mess left over from the weekend.

The staff reported food was splattered on the walls and all over the ovens, the stove was moved and left filthy, and there was something red on the walls.

"They discovered they had to do some pretty extensive cleaning to make (the kitchen) usable," said Ron Holm, director of finance and business services for the Dubuque Community School District.
