Muchachos Announce 2010 Program

| |

marks the 50th Anniversary of The Muchachos Drum & Bugle Corps of Manchester, NH and this year’s show theme, titled "Pictures of Spain" features musical selections highlighting different historical events that played a major role in making the Kingdom of Spain a leading world power in the 16th & 17th centuries.

"Pictures of Spain" the Larry Kerchner composition for Hawthorne’s Muchachos 1975 run to glory, begins the program and sets the theme for the show.

An anniversary wouldn’t be special without a favorite song and The Muchachos celebrate their history by bringing back an old fan favorite and their signature tune from its 1963 junior corps days with the Tijuanna Brass classic "The Lonely Bull". The song captures the excitement of the running of the bulls in Pamplona and the thrill of the bull fight.

"Divinum Mysterium" commonly referred to as a plainsong or chant dating from the 12th to 15th centuries sets the dark and religious tones of the Spanish Inquistion.

"Legend of the One Eyed Sailor" the Chuck Mangione classic will provide reference to Spain’s supremacy on the seas backed by the power of the Spanish Armada.

The corps will encore to Carlos Santana’s Latin rocker "Oye Como Va" to round out the show on a more modern note.

The Muchachos invite all former drum corps and band alumni looking to get back to enjoying and playing music in a non competitive corps atmosphere to stop by any of our rehearsal sessions and join our drum corps family. Come, be a part of our history during this 50th anniversary season and relive the fun and performance opportunities that drum corps provides. Be a part of our "group photo" in this years’ "Pictures of Spain"!
