Atlanta CorpsVets Announces 2010 Scholarship Winners

| |

The Atlanta CorpsVets award scholarships each year in remembrance of friends lost and in appreciation for our community. These scholarships are open to any drum corps member and are awarded through review of submitted essays by potential recipients to help offset the cost of tuition for the summer drum corps season.

This year’s Jason Lowe Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Lindsey Filletreau of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. Lindsey was selected from more than 20 applicants based on several criteria including her essay and financial need.

The Lisa Abney Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to a Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps member, Ellen Abney. Ellen is the daughter of the late Lisa Abney for whom this scholarship is named. Ellen submitted an outstanding essay for consideration, and we are proud beyond measure to award her this scholarship.

Finally, the Anne Sullivan Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Taylor Coppolino of the Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps. Taylor submitted an outstanding essay that set her apart from other applicants, truly reflecting the spirit of Anne Sullivan and her love of the Drum Corps activity.

We at The CorpsVets send out a heartfelt "Congratulations" to all our scholarship winners and thank everyone who applied.
