Tickets are now available for two area drum and bugle corps shows. The Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps of Racine is offering a “WEEKEND OF DRUM CORPS AND MORE,” with a Saturday evening show in Racine and a Sunday afternoon show in Kenosha.

The Kiltie Klassic will be presented at Hammes Field at Case High School, 7345 Washington Avenue (Highway 20) in Racine at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 7th. The line-up is one that assures a variety of entertainment with something for everyone — Minnesota Brass of Minneapolis, Minn.; Govenaires of St. Peter, Minn.; South Shore Color Guard and Drill Team of Chicago IL, strolling highland “Piper of the Glen”, Gary Anderson; the famous and stirring live “Iwo Jima” tribute reenactment; and, of course, The Kilties with their 2009 field production, a stand-still concert and a variety of individual and ensemble performances.

Sound Explosion will be presented at Ameche Stadium at Tremper High School, 8560 26th Avenue Kenosha at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 8th. The entertainment will include The Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps of Racine; Minnesota Brass of Minneapolis, Minn.; Govenaires of St. Peter, Minn.; the Thistle & Heather Highland Dancers from the Chicago area; British-style brass band Prairie Brass Band of Arlington Heights, Ill., strolling highland “Piper of the Glen”, Gary Anderson; the famous and stirring live “Iwo Jima” tribute reenactment.

As a gift from The Kilties to the Racine and Kenosha areas and drum corps fans, tickets are again being offered at very low prices – $10 for each show (all general admission) with up to two children, 12 and younger, admitted free with a paid adult. Tickets for both shows are available now at www.kilties.com and will be available at local ticket outlets after June 15th. A special coupon for the free child admission is necessary and can be printed from this website.

The Kilties are an all-age co-educational drum and bugle corps focused on education and mentorship. The Kilties participate in rehearsals and performances on a weekend-only schedule which allows members to attend school, work and spend time with family. Members range in age from high school through adult. The Kilties teach core values that include character, honor, excellence and tradition.
