Smith, Coates Assume New Roles At Carolina Crown

Carolina Crown Inc. is pleased to announce the election of Kevin Smith as President of its Board of Directors and the appointment of Jim Coates as the Executive Director/CEO effective May 19, 2010.

Kevin moves up to the board president position after over twenty years as the organization’s volunteer executive director. In his new role he will lead the board in setting policy, generating resources and steering the organization’s mission of developing lifelong excellence in young people through superior and challenging performing arts education programs. In addition, Kevin will maintain his “hands-on” ties to the drum corps as Carolina Crown Corps Director, touring with the group and overseeing day-to-day logistics and operations.
