First Asian Judges Certified By DCE

The World Band Championship (WBC) recently held a three day Judges College from in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The WBC Judges College which was conducted by the Director of Education of Drum Corp Europe (DCE), Bob Thomas from the USA, is aimed at producing the first batch of certified WBC Judges for its Championship Series. A total 13 candidates from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand attended the college which was also moderated by the Technical Director of WBC, Wil Bijl from Holland.

"We are indeed excited about this 1st batch of judges for the WBC and hope that this programme would further propel the standard of judging in Asia", said Dato’ Zulkifli Ishak, Chief Executive Officer of the WBC. The WBC was established to advance the level of understanding and develop the marching band community across borders and boundaries in the coming years through its Championship Series, sanctioned events and seminars.
