In The News: Drum Corps Much Like Sport
Greg Newell often is asked what to expect from the Drum Corps International’s summer tour, which will make a stop in Charleston Monday.
"I like to say it’s marching band on steroids," he said. "It’s very similar to marching band, but it’s taking it a couple of levels beyond that."
The non-profit Drum Corps International likens its events to sports, calling them "Marching Music’s Major League."
