Music City Legend To Host Dinner Dance

| |

Music City Legend Drum & Bugle Corps will host a dinner-dance, Dancing with the Legend, on Friday evening, August 6th, at the Nashville Farmers’ Market, 900 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard, in Nashville. Dinner, provided by Fast Track Catering, LLC, will be served beginning at 6:00 PM with dancing beginning at 7:00 PM. Music will be provided by The Moonlighters, a well-known area dance band.

In addition to the meal, beer and wine will be available for those of legal drinking age, with proper ID. There will also be a “silent auction” throughout the evening with a wide range of products and services available for bidding. Winners will be announced at the end of the event.

Laurie Ford, Music City Legend’s treasurer and chairperson for the event, indicated that the corps had been looking for various fundraisers outside of the drum corps activity in an effort to raise public awareness of the corps’ existence. “We’ve been seen as one of the ‘rising stars’ in drum corps circles, but no one in Nashville knows about us. That’s part of the nature of the region.”

“Ballroom Dancing” has come back into vogue in recent years with its certification as a competitive Olympic sport and the success of such TV shows as Dancing with the Stars. Locally, bands such as The Moonlighters have been in heavy demand for such events. Their repertoire includes a variety of music including big band, swing, and jazz.

Tickets for the dinner and dance are $25.00 per person. Dance-only admission tickets are $15.00 each.
