In The News: Bozeman High Grad Spends Summer Touring With Cavaliers Drum Corps
For many college students, summer means catching up with friends, sleeping until noon and working at a customer-service job.
But for Steven Costle, 20, this summer has meant 12 hour-a-day rehearsals and long nights traveling cross-country in a crowded bus.
Costle, a 2008 Bozeman High School grad, has spent the past few months as an assistant drum major in the elite Cavaliers Drum Corps, an all-male 150-member marching band that includes only brass and percussion instruments.
“It was a fantastic summer,” he said. “It was marching band taken to the extreme.”
