In The News: Scores Edge Upward; Suspense Builds

Coming off a disappointing 15th place out of 23 World Class corps at DCI Southeastern in Atlanta on Saturday night, the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps enters its final polishing phase before DCI World Championships begin in Indianapolis on Aug. 12.

The corps finally broke 80 in its scoring last Wednesday in Hattiesburg, Miss., but in Atlanta, finished 2.7 points behind the 12th place corps, Glassmen of Toledo, Ohio.

Only the top 12 qualify for Finals in Indianapolis, a feat the Troopers achieved last summer in Cinderella fashion for the first time in 23 seasons.
