In The News: Concord Council Sends Bingo Hall Plan Back To Drawing Board

The City Council has reached the same decision it did in July: A proposed bingo hall must go through additional environmental studies because of troubles in the planning process.

However, the sharply divided council sparred both over whether the environmental review was necessary and whether that July public hearing was fair.

The council voted 3-2 that Pop’s Bingo World, proposed for 1515 Willow Pass Road, must file a new application with the city under a stricter process than the city initially required. Vice Mayor Helen Allen and Councilman Mark Peterson opposed the decision.
