Pacific Crest Family Comes Together At Banquet

More than 320 people attended the Pacific Crest Annual Awards Luncheon on Sunday, September 19, 2010. The event was held at the Shilo Hilltop Suites in Pomona, and those in attendance included performers, family, alumni, staff, Board, and friends of the corps.

Executive Director Stuart Pompel acted as Master of Ceremonies for the event, and recognized all those who helped contribute to the success of the 2010 season.

Bob Alvarez was inducted into the Perry Volunteer Hall of Fame. Bob’s son, Bobby, performed with Pacific Crest in 1995 and 1996. Since then, Bob has volunteered on and off for the Organization, spanning a total of 15 years of service! He served on our Board of Directors, pulled equipment trailers, drove buses (he works for Certified Transportation), and negotiated significantly reduced bus contracts when the corps travelled only within the state if California. In 2007, Bob organized, coordinated, and managed more than 100 volunteers for the DCI World Championships in Pasadena. Since then, he has annually coordinates and manages 60 volunteers and the day-of operations for Corps at the Crest Walnut and Vista. While Bob is one our most behind-the-scenes volunteers, his length of service and impact on Pacific Crest makes him worthy of the George Perry Volunteer Hall of Fame
