Music City Legend Finalizes New Uniform Design

| |

The Board of Directors of Music City Legend Drum & Bugle Corps has agreed upon a new uniform design, created by Brent W. Becker of Stanbury Uniforms of Brookfield, Missouri. The new uniforms will be ordered in time for delivery prior to the beginning of the 2011 season.

According to MCL Operations Director Charles Vanover of Owensboro, Kentucky, the new design represents the new direction being taken by the corps, yet honors the history of the organization, ?and definitely conforms to the style of Music City Legend. They?re us!? The Board approved the design at their monthly meeting this past Sunday in Lewisburg, Tennessee.

Becker, Stanbury?s Design Consultant, developed the new ?old look? uniforms for the Madison Scouts this past season. His designs are also worn by the Santa Clara Vanguard and the Blue Stars. The MCL Board reviewed five initial concepts submitted by Becker. ?There was a lot of give and take between Brent and the Board?, according to MCL Executive Director Stephan M. Anderman. ?Our Operations Manager also involved our proposed instructional staff, so that they were included in the process and their ideas heard. The ?can-do? approach of Rochelle Hook and Stanbury?s entire team contributed to this effort.?

The new uniforms are being purchased with a portion of the funds received by Music City Legend from Chase Bank?s Chase Community Giving program this past summer. MCL was one of the top 200 charities receiving votes on Facebook

?We are very thankful for the support we received during this fundraising campaign. Were it not for the networking abilities of our members, friends, fans, and other members of the drum corps community, uniform replacement at this time would not have been possible. It is to their credit that this step can be taken now to help put Music City Legend back on the field in 2011 with a more modern look,? Anderman said.

Music City Legend, Tennessee?s only all-age drum corps, was organized in 2003 and competed in the DCA circuit from 2004 through last year. The corps did not compete this year, but greatly looks forward to returning to field competition in 2011.
