2011 Cavaliers Rosemont Clinic/Audition Camp Report

The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps held its first Clinic/Audition Camp for the 2011 season on November 19-21 in Rosemont, Ill, and while there are certain constants during each year’s Clinic/Audition process, the drive and dedication shown by the prospective and returning members always has a way of invigorating the organization at each and every level.

Young musicians and performers from across the United States, Japan, Canada and South America converged just outside of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to showcase their talents, make new friends, and begin the process of joining the “Green Machine.” For many, the weekend of individual and ensemble technique, as well as the introduction of new visual and musical concepts, proved to be an unforgettable experience. Tour director Mark Ackerson kicked off the weekend by telling the group “drum corps will by far be the most difficult and challenging activity in which you will participate, but it will also be the most rewarding.”
